Nasdaq welcomes BWOB, the organization that is accelerating the placement of Black women on the boards of private and public companies through workshops & networking.
Black Women on Boards (BWOB) is an organization that aims to remove the invisible obstacles that Black female executives face when pursuing board membership. Our comprehensive approach helps candidates build visibility, expand networks, prepare them for future board responsibilities, and gain sponsorships.
Members learn through regular meetings and special events, including workshops, webinars, individual coaching sessions, panel discussions and conferences. When board opportunities become available, we match candidates with businesses that offer the best fit, which in turn, propels these leaders as well as their companies to even greater success.
Together, Merline and Robin, identified and addressed the most common invisible barriers that make it tough for Black women to land board opportunities. They formalized an approach that prepares candidates for success, created a digital platform for ease of access, and at last, BWOB was launched. Learn more about our founders below:

A historic moment at NASDAQ Tuesday as African-American women who sit on executive boards across the country rang the opening bell. It's all part of a moment to both recognize and expand opportunities for Black women to serve on executive boards of the nation's biggest companies.
