Triumphant Tribeca
Adding our story to the rich fabric of this cultural touchstone.
Congratulations and thanks to all who created, star in, and funded the new film, OnBoard, chronicling the rise of top talent in America’s boardrooms. That impressive group includes many BWOB members and allies, hence this homepage takeover.
Curated here is a collection of highlights from those who experienced the launch in extraordinary ways at the Tribeca Festival in June.
Highlights of an Unforgettable Night in Manhattan
From the private screening to the executive reception, there was much to celebrate on a perfect summer night. If you asked us to somehow sum it up in two minutes, we’d show you this highlights video.
Post-Screening Q&A with Film Creators
It’s the story behind the story that gives deeper meaning to any film project, and there was much to share about this passion project. We just wish we’d had more time to get to everyone’s questions!
Celebrating the First Black Woman to Serve on a Corporate Board
If it weren’t for her, there would be no such film to make, no such history to celebrate. Her name is Patricia Roberts Harris and she made history when joining the board of IBM in 1971. We stand on her shoulders, with deep pride and much gratitude.

Hello, Times Square
We hear it’s incredible there on New Year’s Eve, perhaps similar to how happy we were to experience (on a perfect summer day) this 10-story message in celebration of the film launch while so many of our BWOB members where there in New York City.
Black Women on Boards (BWOB) removes obstacles that the world’s top Black female executives can face when pursing board of director appointments.
How We're Different
There's no shortage of incredible professional organizations laser focused on propelling top talent and rising stars into even greater leadership responsibilities. So why one more? We noticed a significant opportunity for black women specifically and public companies in particular. We are a nonprofit global membership organization that works 1:1 with our members, with no plans for explosive growth. Rather, our strength is in the intimacy of deep bonds among a few hundred executive women shaping the future.
Getting Things Done
We wake up every day excited to be on this journey that is so deeply rewarding personally and deeply gratifying professionally. We are a lean team that moves fast, balanced with our natural inclination to dream big. Inherent in membership is the expectation of championing the next generation in transformative ways. That's how we grow. That's how we win.

WHAT CEOS ARE SAYING
“I have never in my life met such an amazing and inspiring group of people and board candidates. Every company that partners with BWOB will benefit 10X as much as the women themselves. I could not be more supportive of your mission. Diverse world views, voices and perspectives simply make us better.”
